Grilled French Toast


  • 4 thick slices of bread (brioche, challah, or Texas toast)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter


  1. Batter Time: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Dip: Dip each slice of bread in the egg batter, coating both sides.
  3. Griddle On: Preheat your griddle to medium heat. Melt a tablespoon of butter on the griddle.
  4. Cook: Grill the dipped bread slices for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining butter and bread slices.
