To make the dough: Combine the water, yeast, and sugar in a measuring cup. Stir to combine and let it sit on the counter for about 5 minutes or until the yeast blooms.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl stir together the flour, garlic powder, and salt. When the yeast mixture is ready to use pour over the flour, add the olive oil, and using a handheld
mixer with the dough hook attached, mix until the dough comes together.
Flip on a floured work surface and continue knitting with your hands until the dough takes shape and you can form a ball.
Grease a large mixing bowl with olive oil and place the dough inside. Cover with plastic wrap and leave it in a warm place in your kitchen to rise.
Once doubled in size, flip over a flowered surface and shape into a ball again. Using a rolling pin or your hands, spread the dough into an ½ inch circle.
Preheat the oven to 350F and grease your cast iron griddle with olive oil and transfer the pizza dough on top.
